In the summer of 2012, I was invited to be a part of this Ribbons Gathering in Prospect Park in Brooklyn, NY
hosted by David Wilson and Sam Fleischner. I was able to spend almost two weeks drawing in the park leading
up to the event. Everyday from sunrise to sundown, I would explore the park and draw portraits of individual trees
one after another as a simple meditation. On the day of the gathering,
I traded the drawings to some of the wonderful people I met, and in exchange they would sit with me for a portrait.
